Since 2008 I have been involved with the concept of Passive House Building, at that time the reason was an inspired client who had heard of the concept and wanted to build his home according to this concept. Since then, the Passive House concept has attracted more and more attention and a Passive House Center was opened in Deurne where a showroom displays various products and materials that can be used to build a Passive House. The Passive House concept still appeals to my imagination and I always try to check with a client whether there is interest and opportunity to carry out a project as a passive house building project. As far as I am concerned, Passive Building does not have to be an end station when it comes to energy ambition, but it is definitely a very solid and valuable starting point for designing a project.

Since the beginning of July 2017, the all-new Passive House Center website has been launched and Joris Hoogstede Architect is officially affiliated with and a participant of the Passive House Center. I would like to tell you more about Passivebuilding and why I think this concept is a particularly sustainable concept that can last for many years to come on the road to very energy efficient, sustainable and above all comfortable homes!
