The design question for an extension at the rear of a row house in Rosmalen was the reason for the above variant studies. The aim was to consider the extra space at the rear as a new space so as to avoid creating one long space. The variant with the patio thereby creates a detached garden room and the patio garden still gives an experience of a small courtyard garden even in the existing house.

Although the variant with the patio particularly appealed to the client’s imagination, for budgetary reasons the variant with the en-suite doors was chosen for further elaboration. In the process, we will examine whether components from the other variants can also be fitted into this one in an appropriate manner.
