Highest time for an update on construction in Rooi, also sometimes called Sint-Oedenrode.

Last Monday I went back there after a week’s vacation break to check on progress. In the meantime a lot of work has been done in front of and behind the scenes.
The prefab basement has been placed, the EPS foundation boxes have been filled with concrete and the necessary reinforcement steel, and the sewerage and drainage have been prepared.
As you can see in the pictures, a lot of hard work is now being done on the walls under the floors.

Together, the residents are building their own house. In bricklaying, everyone has their own part to play, whether it is piling, mortar making, profiling or bricklaying, everyone literally and figuratively does their bit.
Not least because the bricks also come from different places. Batch here, batch there, 10 x 100 is also 1000 I always say. With great stories to boot. It makes me happy to hear and see it all. There is a wonderful energy flowing on the building site, which is hardly surprising at such a beautiful spot in the Brabant countryside.
It makes me want to take a look at the building site in Rooi almost every day.

Behind the scenes we are now working on the technical detailing of the house. V&S Authentic Building is putting the finishing touches to the preparation of the timber construction in consultation with structural engineer Patrick van Asseldonk.
In coordination with Pladeko we determine the final dimensions of the high-quality wooden window frames of Kneer-Südfenster. Keeping each other on our toes and remaining critical, but always on the basis of respect for each other’s knowledge and expertise and with a touch of humor.

‘And will you take a picture from the same point of view Joris?’
Yes, or well, approximately, because my pictures remain the work of a human being.

Great, that explosion of greenery since the last time I was there (for fun, see also my previous post). Nice and fresh too after the “juicy shower” during the design meeting.
