An important part of the conversion in Heeswijk-Dinther is the replacement of the existing roofs and the addition of a new gable roof on top of the flat roof of the existing extension. This creates a roof landscape with three interlocking roofs with a line pattern of purlins, rafters, trusses and wall plates. In the area of the kitchen, the floor will later be removed so that the new oak roof construction will be visible from the kitchen as an interior element. <\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the original rafters and purlins turned out not to be good enough to keep for the new heavier roof slab. During my visit to the construction last week, the final touches were being made to the roof structure and the “crippled uprights” were installed by the carpenters. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the client himself laid the beautiful blue braised OVH roof tiles on the roof panels with precision and tight to line, and the Velux roof windows are also ready to be installed. Once the roof is complete, work can continue inside on the floor layout with bedrooms, bathrooms and voids. <\/p>\n
